Drone Utilities

Drones are a must-have technology in the surveying, security and delivery toolbox. Drone mapping makes acquiring, processing, and analysing data more efficient and accurate. Our drone mapping solutions encompass a full range of entry- to advanced-level systems for collecting photogrammetry and LiDAR. Including drone mapping in your business adds a technological advantage in a highly competitive field.

Drone mapping hardware

Drone-enabled sensors have opened a world of opportunities for users in the surveying and mapping industry. With our expertise, we educate users on the best platforms to successfully meet surveying requirements. We offer drone platforms,  a choice of LiDAR/imagery sensors, and mapping software solutions that enable users to perform high-accuracy 3D drone mapping or we can do it for you in house.

Drone Mapping Software

SAL utilise the latest drone mapping hardware and are able to supply to customers if required. The software that we use comes is bundled with our extensive post-processing drone mapping software, it provides tools for rapid visualization and  product generation. The software combination brings the power of 3D point clouds to the user desktop, providing complete control of deliverables.

Drone Geospatial Workflow

SAL use a full geospatial workflow for your LiDAR and Imagery data with visualization, QA / QC tools, Classification, 3D editing and analysis capabilities.

  • Intuitive workflow
  • Multi-flight import and processing
  • GIS interface allowing combination with other geospatial data
  • Powerful point cloud visualization with multiple and synchronized windows

We are able to supply this equipment should you wish to conduct your own editing and analysis.

Training

Getting your team started with the best drone mapping practices may require training. SAL can provide a variety of training options for most  drone mapping products. Live webinar and on-site training are options we can offer based on your specific needs. Our products are also supported by highly trained engineers and technicians for all aspects of the drone mapping workflow. The SAL support team is committed to ensuring all our customers achieve maximum benefit from their investment.

Quality control your captured LiDAR data or images from any aircraft or mobile sensor of your choice.

Use an extensive toolbox of geospatial tools for deriving products that serve multiple industries and applications.

Supported LiDAR sensors

SAL utilise a powerful software suite designed to efficiently process data from any system including UAVs, airborne, and mobile platforms. Once the data is in standard LAS format or LAS + trajectory you can use an extensive geospatial toolbox to generate impressive deliverables.

As technology and collection methods continue to evolve, LiDAR projects continue to get bigger and bigger. Our advanced display techniques allow users to work on projects that consist of tens of thousands of LAS files where the size can be measured in terabytes. Overcoming this obstacle is just one of the ways SAL Geospatial software can bring the benefits of LiDAR to the GIS desktop.

Whether you need to extract polygons for building footprints, separate wires from powerline transmissions or define a railroad centerline, our Geospatial software has the tools you need. Using automatic tools saves time in collecting this valuable information that can be used in a variety of different analysis workflows such as planning, vegetation encroachment, or ordinance compliance.

One of the more powerful capabilities within our Geospatial software is breakline capture and enforcement. Use extensive breakline tools for water body flattening and to define riverbanks and changes in terrain. Breaklines can also be used to introduce artificial elevation constraints to a dataset and 2D breaklines can easily be converted into 3D by simply assigning Z-values.

Requested by many users, we now offer export to LANDXML data file format, containing civil engineering and survey measurement data commonly used in the Land Development and Transportation Industries, so you can continue your work in a CAD environment.
